Our World: (Ends of the Earth)

A UPG Partnership?

First, you might be asking, "what is a upg?"  A UPG is an Unreached People Group.  Most missiologists or mission organizations such as the International Mission Board classify a UPG as a people group in the world of more than 100,000 people and less than 2% evangelical Christian.

What Does the Bible Say About Partnership

I Corinthians 3:9 says,  “For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.”

Who are the “we” in this verse?  Paul uses we” here to show that there is no competition between himself, Apollos, and Cephas, but rather cooperation because they are workers together in a common cause.  Who are the “fellow workers”?

Here we get the idea of something very powerful, synergy.  This speaks of the simultaneous action of separate agencies, which, together, have greater total effect than the sum of their individual parts. By working together more is accomplished than if each simple church or network worked alone.

Philippians 1:3-5 says, “I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.”

Kingdom advancement since the days of the early church and the spread of the Gospel has undoubtedly been served through authentic partnerships. Matthew 28:19-20; “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surelyI am with you always, to the very end of the age.
” This command is given to the church – plural. Not just one of us, but all of us together.

 Southeast Asia

For these reasons, we are exploring the idea of what it would look like for a group of churches to work together toward taking the Gospel of Jesus to an unreached people of Southeast Asia.  Already, much prayer and work has been made toward this Great Commission task and opportunity.  Plans for a vision trip in late 2010 or early 2011 are coming together now.  Interested?  Contact us now
